I love Mel Brooks' films, and this is definately at the top - taking the mick of Star Wars using some cheesy slap stick humour that will have you laughing for a long time. A must see movie for anyone!
Mel Brooks strikes again

Mel Brooks is a comedy genius and Spaceballs is up there with the best of them an hillarious spoof of all sci fi movies with great turns by the brilliant Rick Moranis and the late great John Candy if you enjoyed previous Mel Brooks flicks you will love this one 5 thumbs way up genius
my favourite film!!

How could anyone compare a scary movie film with this 80's classic, just watched a clip again on u-toob and got jokes that went over my head as a 7 year old!
Watch if you want nostalgia and you like slapstick style comedy (e.g dumb and dumber! Another classic!)

This film is like any other skit films, excluding the classics, funny with cheap jokes and cheesey scenes. But it was good. If you still think that scary movie 5 is funny then buy it. If not I wouldn't bother.
Sorry, but it just isn't funny

Just as a horror film is a bit poor without any scares, or an action film pretty poor without any action, so a comedy without laugh is, well, poor. Perhaps it iss time that just hasn't been kind, but Mel Brooks' effort comes across as a pretty poor fare today. The main problem is that there are a few chuckels, but no real laughs, and a lot of puns are very predictable and fall flat on their face.
Personally I love the Star Wars films and enjoy a good parody, so I couldn't accept that I didn't get the jokes. The problem is that they just aren't funny. Whilst the running merchandise gag or 'film within a film' parts are clever, coming up with ideas such as Yogurt or Pizza the Hutt certainly aren't. The constant Jewish stereotypes really being to grate after a while as does the fact there is little cohesion between scenes. In fact it plays out more like a collection of deleted scenes than one film, with the makers seemingly throwing every idea in and not worrying about what came out the other side
Funny!

First saw this film on tv and thought it was a really good take on the comedy side of Star Wars/Trek. This is a good film which will make you laugh and keep you entertained until the end. I wouldnt' say you could watch it over and over in one go but you will find yourself putting it back on :)
