I bought this out of impulse a while ago because of the actors on the cover didn't really expect much as I hadn't heard of the film. But I can honestly say that this is one really great film! Johnny Depp did a really awesome job of being george jung. I reccommend it, it's a good watch.

I cant believe how brillaint this film is.
The plot, the cast, the drama, the excitement, the story... which is true!
Johnny Depp is a genius in the film, from his "high" acting to his sentimental parts.

I'm clearly the minority here. I've just watched this movie all the way through and I couldn't see any point in it. Why was it made? Where is the plot, where is the drama? There wasn't even any action. It is about somebody who had nothing going for him and found himself at the heart of the drugs trade. George Jung, as portrayed, was a one-dimensional character, just like his mother and his wife. He made a lot of money and he lost it and ended up in jail. So don't trade drugs folks! Otherwise, so what? Not even Johnny Depp or Penelope Cruz could inject their flat roles with any interest. Maybe a film about the cops on his case might have been more interesting. The film, like the main character, was a wash-out.

This film is brilliant in every way.It is based on a true story and shows the highs and lows of being involved in the drug trade.Jonny depp at his finest.

This is deffinatly one of the best gangsta/drugs film of all time and what makes it better is its based on a true story.Good story how they start off with nufink and then there drug empire rises and the acting is great in it very good role played by jonny depp.

This interesting movie about the true story of George Jung (Johny Deep) and how he became, with Pablo Escobar and the Medellin cartel, some of the great providers of the cocaine in the United States. How he started with marijuana, and in the search of money, profit and material stuffs, turning then to the white powder, and off course, a more complicated and dangerous business.

A story that shows the role of a man that insists is business which keeps destroying his life; and shows some details of how the drug business in the 70's and 80's was being held, the tactics, contacts, betray, marketing, sales, distribution and blood behind it. Johny Deep shows that he is a very versatile actor, Penelope Cruz makes a really bad acting (won the Razzie award that year), Franka Potente as always, incredible and charming.

Unlike other drug movies there is a story to be told which sits outside the crime and corruption, a story which is told well, that shows the consequences of some really bad decisions and acts in the pursuit of the "easy money"

This is one of those few films which will leave you speachless, the ending is a shock.

this film is truly immense. by far the best film i have seen in a long long time.

I have lost count of how many times I have watched this film, Johnny Depp on top form, along with Donnie Brasco, arguably one of his best performances.
Buy it now, you will not be dissapointed

This is Johnny Depp doing what he does best! Depp plays an AMAZING character in this movie. The storyline has everything in it!! Relationships, drugs, action and comedy!!

This is worth buying if you like films like Pulp Fiction, The Rules of Attraction, trainspotting etc
