Truely the grandest of the epics of the 50s and 60s, and truely deserving of its astounding 11 Acadamy Awards (a record held only by Titanic and LOTR: Return of the King), and the critical acclaim bestowed upon it. It is a truely timeless film, and is one of the few films that goes past the 180 min mark, but doesn't drag. William Wyler at his best, his seminal piece of work.
