 Very Distasteful

Glossy and morally dubious thriller in which a highly unpleasant subject is nothing more than a backdrop in front of which Julia Roberts can show off. Matters aren't helped by having a love interest who's as creepy as the villain and who sports a mullet that makes baldness look good.

 Brilliant film

This film is great, not just average. The characters are believeable and the ending is unpredictable. You are hooked from the beginning, wanting to watch on to see what happens next. The only thing I would change about the film is that it could have been slightly longer., but it's quality over quantity that counts.

One of Roberts' lesser known films, but a cracker all the same. She plays Laura, a woman whose every move, thought and action are controlled by her dominating husband. So she takes matters into her own hands, builds herself a new life... until he comes looking for her and her new life starts to unravel. A good, tense thriller. Worth buying.

Fantastic film with a young Julia Roberts. Beautiful and definitely moving, as well as a complete thriller. Had me on the edge of my seat!

Laura (Roberts) is the wife of a wealthy man who controls every aspect of her life, from what she wears to whether she works to whom she sees. When she does something he doesn't like, he gets violent. He is also psychologically damaging and there comes a point where Laura cannot take it anymore. She seizes the opportunity one night whilst sailing with her husband and a new neighbour to fake her own death and start a free life somewhere new. As time moves on, so does Laura, but is this the end of her torment?

Gripping, beautiful, engaging. Reccomend to buy.

 Great movie

From watching other films in which Julia Roberts starred, I figured this would be good as she's normally in movies worth watching. After 10 minutes of watching this film I was glued to the TV, the acting is brilliant and the story line is great. Definitely worth buying!
