Last Chance Harvey

Went to see this film because i could not get into what i originally wanted to see and i was so surprised.
Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson as usual are excellent in the title roles as people who love has seemed to pass them by until they meet each other and romance starts to grow.
It's a little obvious at times but you can't help getting carried away!
Well worth a watch if you are feeling a little down and need a pick me up.

This really is one of the best screen representations of those age old tales; "you're never too old for love" and "you'll find love when you least expect it". It is a simple storyline, perhaps a tad predictable at times, but it's refreshing to watch a film which focuses entirely upon just two characters and how their meeting changes both their lives forever. It's a great pick-me-up film, which doesn't take too much thinking about, and which is the perfect length (at just over and hour and a half). Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson are both at their brilliant best. Dustin Hoffman's smile is infectious and you can't help but will the two characters to find happiness. A classic love story for our time. 10/10.

I found this quite slow to get going as the film plods along setting the scene for the lead roles to meet and of course fall for each other.
Once we reach the halfway mark the film picks up some spped and you begin to get into the story a little more.It is a really nice story that is well acted by the brilliant Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson who hold the film together with good performances.
Not worth buying as there is little rewatch value but worth picking up on rental for a quiet evening in.

Predicatable! Slow! and pointless,, Just what I cannot stand in a movie! Not what I expected from a film with two great actor/actress's
in it.

This film deserves way more than 3 stars. There's no sex, violence or action chases, just a gentle grown-up file for grown-ups about 2 lonely people finding romance. It's not slow at the beginning; it's establishing who the characters are and their situations. Without that, you won't understand some of what happens and is said later on.
A real class act, beautifully played by 2 actors at their peak.
