 don't eat the sausage !!!

If you like the humour in Ashes to Ashes, you will love the final episode.
As well as having a great storyline (With a moral in it),the gags come thick and fast.

I Love the scene when They are talking about the 1980's Porno.

If you want to know what the "Don't eat the sausage" is about, you will have to buy the DVD's

Great Stories,Great SCi-FI & Great Gags.Buy it and enjoy !

 Great TV

I would recommend that you watch life on mars beforehand but Ashes to Ashes is still great fun to watch! I can't wait until the last episode and although not quite as good as life on mars I still think it has done itself justice, especially with some of the fantastic one liners Philip Glenister has! I watched the series finale last night and it is one of the best ending's Ive seen! I really wasn't expecting it and it was completly different to life on mars. Now I can't wait for the 3rd series!!!

 An improvement

But still not great - the story lines are getting the "same" - the acting is improving but only just...rumour is that philip glenister does not want to do another series...even though the bbc has commissioned one...if he doesn't then they really would be flogging a dead horse.

This is a lot better than series one although the charcters are not as strong and even gene hunt seems to be becoming a softy...i will buy it for collecting purposes..but thats all.

THE EIGHTIES ARE BACK, AND ITS CRIMINAL

I never thought I would find myself saying this, but I am starting to lose faith in this franchise. Life On Mars was fantastic and Ashes To Ashes series one was a decent start setting the trend for something new. For this second series we were told the stakes would be higher and they are, the series appears to be better thought out and has a much darker note, but I can't help but feel that it's all been done before - the corruption in the second and final series of Mars and Alex's "operation" seems to be a retread of Sam's.

That's not to say that I don't like this series, it does have its high moments - Gene Hunt operating a crane being one of them, but the stories have become a tad run of the mill with the crime of the week approach and the underlying story of the coma/time travel is becoming silly now as even if the outcome is going to be different to Mars then why aren't we getting any answers or any clues, and if we are getting these then why aren't they more obvious? In addition - and I know I may get a lot of grief for saying this - but Keeley Hawes still fails to engage me as Drake and I couldn't give two hoots if she makes it back to her daughter or not!

Like I have said though that's not to say the series doesn't have its high moments. Gene's one liners and jokes are still present while plots like in episodes three, four and seven make for great watching. On the whole though; I feel slightly let down by the ending to the brilliant ongoing Martin Summers storyline to which the writers went for a simple approach in my opinion and the finale; while very humorous in parts (no pun intended!) ended on a scene that I found particularly cheesy and not helped by Keeley Hawes acting, which appears great at times and then nose dives at others. Rumour has it that there's a third series in the pipeline. If there is lets end all this time travel because the formula is becoming old and writers don't seem able to bring something new to the table.

 Getting Tired !!

Although a vast improvement on series one, Ashes to Ashes isn't a patch on Life On Mars in terms of quality, acting or writing. Infact the format itself is getting desperately tired and this is starting to show as series two reaches its climax. The writers will need a great game plan and even the short return of John Simm as Sam Tyler in series three if they are going to drag this idea along for yet another year,
