Set in 1933, ten years after the events in the first film, Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) is married to Evelyn (Rachel Weisz) and the couple has settled in London raising their 9-year-old son Alex (Freddie Boath).
When a chain of events finds the corpse of Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) resurrected in the British Museum, Imhotep walks the earth determined to fulfill his quest for immortality. But another force has also been set loose, one born of the darkest rituals of ancient Egyptian mysticism and even more powerful than Imhotep. When these forces clash, the fate of the world will hang in the balance, sending the O'Connell's on a mission to save the world and their son before it is too late...

although it's not as good as the first it was still a fun and enjoyable film there were some great bits in the movie that were better than the first but most bits in the film wasn't as good as the first i liked it but the story didn't grasp me as much as the first but still it has a special place in my DVD collection overall 9.5/10
This is a really good sequel to the first Mummy film. I absolutely loved the first film and for the first one is slightly better but that takes nothing away from this film as it really is great and I enjoyed the whole 2 hours running time.
The one thing I liked more in this film is the difference of Rachel Weisz' character Evelyn, she has hardened up in this film, unlike in the first she wanted to run away from the battles and fighting, in this film she is part of some of them. Brendan Fraser is again great as O' Connell.
The effects are very impressive as in the first film, the story is simple but you get easily involved in the families situation (They are now married and have a son) All in all another great action movie, cant wait for the third one!!
