I was 11 yrs old when this film came out and i was about 13 yrs old when i persuaded my mum to rent it for me!
It has to be said, this is my favourite Horror film of all time.
John Landis at his best in this classic black humoured movie which, for the early 80's, has some fantastic special effects.
I don't want to spoil it for those who have not seen it (yet) but Rick Baker has done a fantastic job on the metamorphosis scene and the cinema scene are sooo good. As is the first time they walk into the pub! (he's not called Rick Baker Monster Maker for nothing!!)
The soundtrack is spot on, i never knew how many versions of Blue Moon there were!
It's funny, gory and there are a lot of familiar tv faces in there that you'll recognize....
I could go on and on about this film, i know the script by heart and annoy the hell out of anyone watching it with me!!
If you love the Horror genre, you have to have this film in your collection.
It's just a given!
Infact, i might just have to go and stick it my player right now......

This is one of my all time favourite horror films. John Landis directs this superb black comedy horror films so well and the effects by Rick Baker still look good today 29 years down the line.
When this first came out I was far to young to be allowed to see it so it was some 10 years after its release before I got to see it, Despite the huge leaps and bounds in the world of CGI by then I still thought the Werewolf transformation scene was brilliant and even now I still dont think I have seen a better one. The whole film is brilliantly done the end scene in the cinema and when the Werewolf runs loose on the streets of London is great.
With a great soundtrack as well I love Bad Moon Rising and I like it was said in another review on here I never knew there had been that many versions of Blue Moon recorded.
This is a superb horror film it has everything a great storyline, excellent effects, a brilliant soundtrack and lots of dark black comedy to go along with the horror, This is a must have for anyones DVD collection and if you have not seen this film for this current price you have no excuse for not adding this classic to your collection.

This was the very first horror film I ever saw when I was a kid. Loved it then, and love it now. Haven't watched in ages but it's one of the best movies filmed of it's time. Storylinewise, soundtrackwise, Special effectswise. Cannot fault this film what so ever. If you've never watched it, watch it now.

 A true classic never ages

I never tire of watching this movie. I remember watching it when it first came out, and being amazed by the oscar-winning special effects and with the introduction of CGI you can still marvel at the transformation from man to werewolf - it has never been bettered! There are very few films in modern history that can boast horror, humour, special effects, sex, violence and a classic soundtrack - this has everything.
Every DVD collection should have a copy........

Still scares me a little even now, and I can't help but shout at the boys to stay on the path! First John Landis film I saw, and have since gone on to explore the rest. Blues Brothers is good by the way! Loving the small part played by the legend Rik Mayall.

An excellent horror, that is worth every penny. Get it.
