Agatha Christie's classic sleuth Miss Marple (here essayed by Geraldine McEwan), takes on another case of murder most foul...
Soon after Gwenda moved into her new home, odd things started to happen. Despite her best efforts to modernise the house, she only succeeded in dredging up its past. Worse, she felt an irrational sense of terror every time she climbed the stairs. In fear, Gwenda turns to Miss Marple to exorcise her ghosts. Between them, they attempt to solve a 'perfect' crime committed many years before....

Little resemblance shown to what Agatha Christie penned!

As usual with these most recent adaptations of Agatha Christie's works the acting and general filming is superb. Geraldine McEwan will never be as Great as was Joan Hickson in the role but she does bring a somewhat more sprightly Miss Marple to the screen. Once again the supporting cast is of the highest quality. The problem with this title is that the screen writers have once again seen fit to alter the story as written by Agatha Christie and in this case have introduced a whole new set of characters and completely altered the plot of the story. The story now shows very very little resemblance to the original. This is absolutely unnecessary in Agatha Christie's works and she will be turning in her grave!
