by far the best 'Based on a true story' film that i have seen.
Its fantastic to see how the black and white communities came together through football.the spirit and determination they show is truly inspiring. I watch this DVD every friday before a game of rugby :)

I bought this film as one of them films you buy with a superb actor in just to see if it is any good. Guess what. It was. I am not much for american football films but this changed my outlook completely. One of the films to buy and an enjoyable watch.

Being an Englishman, I have very little idea about American football yet this film is totally gripping, uplifting and inspirational. I have seen it several times and it is a film that I want to watch over and over. Denzel Washington et al give fabulous performances and the story appeals on many levels - the football often taking a backseat. A must-see.

You don't need to be a fan ...

You don't need to be a fan of American Football to appreciate this film. It concentrates on the concequences of white and black american school merging ... following the combined black and white football team it highlights rasism, anger, frustration, friendship, honor and dignity. Excellent acting from all, I could not see any weak link. It has a message for all. I was glued from start to finish and there is not a dull moment throughout.
From a non American Football fan .... I loved it, the football is a back story really. The real story is having the courage to stand up and do the right thing, to stick up for your friends and to do it with integrity.
* Blu-Ray - it upscales very well on a Blu-Ray player as well - good crisp quality image.

  WOW what a film

Being a fan of Denzel Washington and Jerry Bruckheimer films i decided for the bargain price of £3.99 to give this film a go.
And boy im a glad i did this is a true hidden gem i had never really heard that much about it but the story based on actual events from 1971 is uplifting and inspires you to believe in the best of all men.
2 schools merge as one an all white and an all black school must become as one and work beyond the racial divides on and off the football field for the ultimate prize.
A fantastic film that i would highly recomended to anyone its about far more than football so if thats been putting you off viewing dont as your missing out on a fantastic little film.
