The film is up there as one of the best ever made, very subtle and keeps you glued to the screen. With truely brilliant acting performances all around , not just clooney who is brilliant though if you like blues/bluegrass/gospel / country music then buy the soundtrack its only £2.99 at the moment on play.com. Beautiful music and the version of bring me sunshine is worth buying it just for that song, and no i dont work for play.lol

An incredibly well filmed movie. The music is very good. The acting is excellent. A film well worth watching and one that has a place in my movie collection.
Thank goodness for the Coen Brothers. Their success has brought them bigger budgets, but hasn't rid them of their creativity. I had planned on seeing another movie, but it was sold out so I went to this one instead. By the time it began, I had forgotten what movie I was there to see. I was surprised in more ways than one. This movie is hilarious, but they don't make any cheap jokes just to get the laughs. The writing is brilliant, and delivered with great skill by George Clooney (after this, nobody can say he's just a pretty face) and the rest of the cast. It can be appreciated on many levels, whether you remember the Odyssey or not. I can't remember the last time I saw a movie that was this clever. I've seen others I would describe as beautiful, intriguing, funny and charming, all of which also describe "Oh Brother," but this movie reminded me of older seinfeld episodes where all the subplots came together in the end. You can feel that their journey is building up to something, but you can't tell what. And the Coen brothers do not fail us, the end is certainly not disappointing. It's surprising, and ties up all the loose ends neatly, without wearing the story out.
A great buy!

Wonderful movie, definatly on my top 5 of all time.
Although I'm not a particular George Clooney fan he is superb in this movie. Story is great, script is fabulous, effects are wonderful and the coming and going of the many bit charecters give the whole affair an amazing depth I don't think I have ever got from any other movie.
Buy it, watch it love it. Or saying that borrow it off of me, I've bought this movie 4 times now for myself and lent it to friends 4 times and never gotten it back. Does say something about how watchable it is!
Another Coen Success

The Coen Brothers are building an impressive reputation in the film industry for their quality scriptwriting but this film in my opinion is far better than later released titles such as The Village. The dialogue is witty, story is clever and the acting is top drawer, if your not a George Clooney fan dont let this put you off. While the basis of the storey follows Homer's Odyssey, its like viewing the book through the bottom of a pint glass, everything might be a little blurred and confused but getting there was fun. Half my friends loved it the other half switched it off after 30 minutes, so if you value dialogue and something a little different over high speed car chases and loud explosions, then give this one a go.
A toe-tapping Coen classic

The Coen's take on Homer's Odyssey transports the action to the deep south and rates as one of their best films to date with a cracking soundtrack and spot on performances from the all- star cast. Lucious cinematography combined with the Coen's trademark black wit makes this a must purchase.
