'Three Colours: White' deals with the theme of equality, as personified by Karol's manic attempts to convince his wife his love for her deserves to be returned. This film is less artistic visually than the previous 'Blue'; instead, it focuses on the characters, which are again understated and emotionally raw. The absurdist nature of the plot signify's Kieslowski's experimentation with comedy, and there are some very comedic moments. But rather, the final emotional payoff pushes home the ambiguous message that love does not work as innocently as people might think. Just as profound as 'Blue', but Kieslowski's more artistic nurturing is missed
