Alice In Wonderland (With Play.com Exclusive Playing Cards!) (Tim Burton 2010)

I went to see this film last night and to be honest I want my money back. It was a very poor offering by Tim Burton, Johnny Depps' Scottish accent disappears randomly during the film, Anne Hathaway's White Queen and Mia Wasikowska's Alice are both wooden and dull. The 3D seemed pointless compared to other 3D films I have seen and didn't add anything except to the ticket price. The story barely hangs together and concluded very poorly. There is simply nothing about this film I could recommend to anyone.

Only from the mind of Tim Burton could such a film come about.
Once I heard that this classic tale was being remade again and Burton was directing I thought this would be a amazing and strange adventure.
Bringing together the 2 Lewis Carol novels Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass Burton delivers this superb and diverse film.
The action is more from Alice Through The Looking Glass as we meet Alice as a 19 year old who thinks Wonderland is just something she dreamt as a young girl not a real place, Then we are introduced to a host of familiar characters Cheshire Cat, Dweedle Dee and Dum, March Hare, White Rabbit and Blue Caterpillar and of course the superb bad guy the Red Queen played superbly by Helena Bonham Carter.
Johnny Depp steals the show as The Mad Hatter his over the top performance is brilliant.
The story is great fun it moves at a good pace and the effects are great, I would not recommended taking very young kids to see this as it is quite dark and can be a tad scary in some places my 6 year old was fine but my 4 year old found some parts scary.
I loved the film I was unsure of what to expect from this but I was really surprised as it was great fun and I cant wait to see it again on DVD.

this movie definately has its highs and lows. The special effects are billiant and imaginative and some of te comic elements are very funny. What lets down this film is Mia Wasikowskas performance as Alice, its wooden and boring. Praise for Johnny Depps performance as the mad hatter.

This film is not a remake or a sequel, but a combination of Alices Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. It combines characters and storylines from both books and features characters such as Alice, Hatter, Absolem, the White Queen and The Red Queen (A combination of the Queen of Hearts and the Red Queen).

It had some brilliantly portrayed characters such as Alice, The Red Queen and The White Queen and some brilliantly voices characters. However I didnt enjoy Johnny Depps portrayal of the Mad Hatter.

Visually it looked great, but lacked story. I thought that it could have been adapted a lot better. It had the makings of a great film and I liked the idea of combining the two books, but I thought there was something missing and lacked magic and thats why it has a three star rating.

Went to see this film with some friends and my god was I bored. The lead actress is awful for a start, she is so dull and seems to have no emotions. Also I am bored of Johnny Depp playing some weirdo directed by Tim 'one genre' Burton. I mean seriously, how much more of there partnership are we going to be subjected to?
