Academy Award winning director Martin Scorsese (The Departed) once again teams up with Leonardo DiCaprio (Blood Diamond) in this spine-chilling thriller that critics say "sizzles with so much suspense that it's hot to the touch."

When U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio) arrives at the asylum for the criminally insane on Shutter Island, what starts as a routine investigation quickly takes a sinister turn. As the investigation unfolds and Teddy uncovers more shocking and terrifying truths about the island, he learns there are some places that never let you go.

After seeing the trailers in the cinema i presumed that this was going to be more of a horror film but what i got was a very very good thriller.
Di Caprio plays Teddy Daniels a U.S Marshal called to the mysterious Shutter Island where he and his new partner played by Mark Ruffalo are to investigate the escape of a murderer from a high security insane asylum.
The story was slow to get started but this is I suppose is needed to build tension and for you to get a feel of what is going on on this strange island.
With a real surprise twist at the end this is a superb thriller that i really enjoyed and could be one of the best films i have seen so far this year.
I must mention the brilliant soundtrack it is dark and creepy and really builds tension where it is needed and makes this film a superb edge of your seat thriller.
Di Caprio is really good in this film only the excellent script upstages a very solid performance from him and a all star supporting cast lead by Sir Ben Kingsley, Mark Ruffalo, Emily Mortimer and Max Von Sydow to name but a few.
A superb story that is directed to perfection by Martin Scorsese just as you would expect from one of the best directors around well worth paying to go and see on the big screen and i cannot wait to order my copy on DVD as soon as it comes available.

Just great acting, great cinematography and superb story and pace. I can't believe people slated this movie, each to their own opinion but this is a really good performance from Di Caprio and excellent direction from Scorsese. Yes the ending might be a bit predictable to some... only because they have heard it already from other before they watched the movie. It's gripping and a good buy on dvd.

I got sucked into this story straight away. It keeps you on edge and keeps you wondering all the way through. Leonardo delivers a flawless performance along with the ever brilliant Ben Kingsley. Martin Scorsese once again delivers a masterpiece. I highly reccomend you go and see this, you wont be dissapointed. It leads up to a phenomanel ending. 10/10 stuff best film I seen in a long time.
