  Not My thing

This is a Really well made movie, with a lot of attention to detail and some very inventive little effects. Visually it is very Good.
Story just didn't do it for me, the characters didn't engage me, especially Michael Cera, who seems to have the same acting style in every film.
Loads of people on Play.com love this as do others beyond Play.com.
So I think it's maybe something I just didn't get, or maybe it's not in my age range.
Anyway. probably worth finding out a bit about this movie beforehand before you buy it, to see if it appeals to you sensibilities.

What a surprise and I do mean a jaw droper.

This movie is crazy it is silly and to be honest it should not work its that weird an idea but and this is the jaw droper its Fantastic honest.

The cast (excluding our Titel hero) are very good as they play a bunch of freeks and geeks.

This film is a Laugh and it will make you smile

I don't rarely give out 5 stars for anything but there's just something about this movie. Granted its not as funny as Edgar Wright's other movies but it's just.... Awesome!
A comic book/computer game style world, Scott Pilgrim a guy who's stuck on his ex finally falls in love with a new one, but the problem is he must defeat her 7 evil super ex-boyfriends. The story is a little crazy!
Edgar Wright has done a good job making this simple story into an amazing movie. There's comedy from start to finish, there's crazy scenes which his other movies had, and a lot more which'll make you laugh. There's some cool witty lines which'll have you cracking up also.

Overall: This is just a great movie, it's stupid and funny and most importantly of all good fun to watch. It's entertaining for the whole 47mins. You'll be laughing and feeling sad, and loving every minute of it!
MUST SEE!!

Love this film, simplistic but charming

The story lines pretty simple and the acting is quite crass but for some reason I can't stop watching this film, ordered it the moment I saw it at the movies, Love the little dorky moments like the fair fountain tune from zelda and the bass line to final fantasy

I can see why you hate it, but don't

It tries very hard to think of something different and naturally someone will spot something familiar. I think its aimed at the teens and 20s market with the computer game ideas. I'm 40 and loved it, I found it entertaining, liked the baddies, the catchphrases, Scott and his love interests. Scott's geeky enough without being Napoleon Dynamite, he's naturally a bit self centred, but thats needed for the standard 1hr 10minute Oh-Your-Going-To-Lose-The-Girl-Moment hollywood always adds in. (BTW there's often a 50 minute saucy spot too...now next time you see a non-saucy film and there's a bit of flesh. Pause it and check the time counter)

Relax and enjoy, don't expect the best film ever its not meant to be. If you're older like me you'll enjoy but have forgotten the catchphrases a week later.

  Random

The lowest I could give this film is 1 star but the few funny coments gave it a second star. The story was random and had no plot. In the end I started laughing about how stupid the film was.

I bought this film for 6 pounds but I am now thinking about selling it.

Film student rubbish - Wright is a talentless hack.

| | See all Thesarge's reviews (2)

This film is a mess, too many 'styles', poor direction and no editorial judgement.

Somehow Wright has taken video games, martial arts and rock music and managed to make them bland.

The worst failing of this film is that the fight scenes suck, there is no change of pace, no cool camera shots and no 'wow' moments. Somehow Wright has managed to take the awesome combo of martial arts and hot cute girls and still not made a cool film, I suppose that's some kind of skill, isn't it..........

I really enjoyed this movie, mainly because I share some of the same geeky qualities as Scott. The video-game reference's make this a totally awesome and extremely fun movie. If you like video-game's and superhero movie's you're gonna love this.
