When Dave Lizewski, an ordinary teenager, sets about trying to become the no-power vigilante Kick-Ass, he soon discovers he's not alone. But he's out of his depth - a fearless and highly trained father-daughter crime-fighting duo, Big Daddy and Hit Girl, have declared war on New-York mafioso, Frank D'Amico. As Kick-Ass and his new found friend, Red Mist, get drawn into their no-holds-barred world of bullets and blood, the stage is set for a final showdown - in which the DIY hero will have to live up to his name... or die trying.

Was telling people that I was gonna watch this movie as it looked like a FUN movie, and it was just that.
Really enjoyed the movie on all levels. Even though it did get a bit darker in the 2nd half.
Love the way the violence was very violent, not comic booky style, and the language was very colourful.
The story started a touch slow, like all Super Hero movies, but was needed to build up an understanding of the characters.
Once the Story kicked in, it was pretty much non stop Action and Dilemmas all the way.
You really could not predict what would happen.
The Characters and Acting was First Rate. Top Marks going to Chloe Moretz as the Awesome Hit Girl, Nicolas Cage as the Goofy Big Daddy and Mark Strong as the Villain of the piece, he is playing the Bad Guy in a lot of Movies nowadays, but always brings something new to the table each time and is Very Watchable. The Other Cast members, Playing Kick Ass and Red Mist were fine, but were not really the Stars of the show.
I also like the way the movie summed up the way some teenagers are invisible and JUST EXIST.
Big Respect to Director Matthew Vaughan, he could have just joined the Hollywood Directors Conveyer Belt of making any old Nonsense, but has stuck his neck out, early in his career and hopefully this will be his calling card.

I had wanted to see this film since it first came out and finally got round to watching it this week and all I can say is this film deserves all the hype it has got so far as it is for me the best film I have seen this year so far hands down.
The plot is brilliant and the characters are all fantastic, I love the way the film is shot it has a very similar feel to Kill Bill with the death and the action scenes.
Nicolas Cage was brilliant as Big Daddy he is one of my favourite actors and it was nice to see him back on form in a role that suited him perfectly.
I am not going to spoil this amazing film for you by telling you anything about the plot all I am going to say is you have to see this film it is amazing and is the best film of 2010 so far.

This is without a doubt a MUST see film, certainly one of the best and original comic book films in past years! The story is great very funny and full of action and very bloody violence!! The cast is so perfect in every way, nic cage is hilarious as Big Daddy, he plays the character like Adam west played batman and its a great parody! The best character has to be HitGirl played by Chloe Moretz, she is extremely funny and cool and very violent for a child! Make sure you check out this highly entertaining movie worth every penny. Gem of 2010!!

Sublime movie... special DVD lesser so.

When I saw Kick Ass at the cinema, I found myself enjoying almost every minute, and I was left with a feeling that made me want to go back and experience it all over again. It's not the most believable story, and often has moments where it feels like it's existence was merely to shock the audience and push the bar, but thankfully, it was written and directed so well that it turned out to be so much more.
So of course, I was thoroughly looking forward to it's DVD release, and even more excited when I saw that Play.com had their own special edition of it. Upon arrival of the DVD, I felt slightly disappointed. The concept is a good one - what you receive is a cardboard sleeve with a hole in the front. In this hole, you can see the image of one of the interchangeable art cards, which fit snugly alongside the DVD itself in the sleeve. Sadly, the manufacture quality of the sleeve wasn't that great a quality, and the texture of the cardboard looks as though it would be easy to see scratch marks, since printing imperfections can also be clearly seen. I may sound nitpicky here, but the way the box is folded also leaves some clear imperfections, as does the cutting of the side of each of the art cards, and the hole in the front of the box, which also have a couple of small tears. Since the art cards already snazz the box up, it would've been nice to have the standard box art for the DVD itself, at least as a reversible sleeve, but the cover art is the same as the one on the art cards, which seems a little pointless to me.
Another disappointing aspect about the DVD is the special features on offer, of which comprise of a featurette and a commentary. In comparison to the 17.99 version which includes not only further special features, but also a copy of the film on Blu Ray, the amount of special features on offer here are a big disappointment.
All in all, the quality of the box and special features on offer don't do the film justice, and instead serve as a very small compliment to the movie, which, on it's own, is one of the best films this year.

 Kick-Ass or just Half-Ass

What a boring unfunny flim, if you think just swearing every other word makes a good movie then this is the one for you. What action there is, is pretty good at times and the last 20-30mins are probably the best, but the rest of the movie is dire and why people are saying this is the film of the year is beyond me. The over use of bad language spolit it for me and im no prude, If your 15 and still snigger when people swear then buy this, but otherwise this movie is over-rated and will soon be in the bargin bucket for 2.99
