Somewhere in the United States, three nuclear bombs are about to detonate. There are only 2 days to find them - and only one man knows where they are. FBI agent Brody (Carrie-Anne Moss) is charged with making the terrorist (Michael Sheen) talk, as is H (Samuel L. Jackson), a former black-ops interrogator who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. As they start to run out of time, the tension between the two agents grows in this intense, suspenseful, action-packed thriller that will take you to the brink and beyond.

It's Raw, Powerful, Gruesome and Shocking - But I LOVED it!

Unthinkable in a few short words basically has an American/Muslim terrorist who plants 3 bombs in 3 major American cities. He is caught and the Government and FBI must find out where they are. They call in Samuel L Jackson to get him to tell him where they are. He doesn't so SLJ tortures him until he does. The scenes are very graphic, gritty and powerful. All actors within this are excellent, especially Michael Sheen who plays the terrorist. He displays the huge range of emotion within this fantastically, and Carrie Ann Moss is terrific as the audience surrogate who questions whether or not SLJ is going too far to discover if what he is doing is morally wrong, even if it were to save millions of lives.
A definate film to add to your collection. Do not miss out on a great film!!!

 So,what would you do...

This is a really good film with strong performances from Samuel L Jackson and Carrie Ann Moss. But for me,Michael Sheen steals their thunder as a "Terrorist" who you sympathise with and abhor in at times equal measure. It's not an easy watch at times, but it goes to show you that the Good Guys/Bad Guys impressions we have are just down to circumstances.Asks a lot of questions that most other "terrorist" movies stay well clear of!!So watch it and ask yourself. What would I do in this situation?

The split screen design and ticking clock on the DVD cover makes me think of the superb TV series 24. The film itself shares many themes previously explored in 24 such as extreme terrorism, torture and the hunt for hidden nuclear bombs, however I found Unthinkable guilty of that most terrible of thriller film crimes, Boring. There is little action throughout the film and suspense is nowhere to be seen. The main characters all seem to be playing out in their own little films; Samuel L Jackson shouts a lot (Intense!) Carrie-Anne Moss argues a lot (Forthright!) and Michael Sheen screams a lot (Oh the pain!) but there is an absence of chemistry between any of them. The moral dilemma of the film; how far can a good, honest person sanction torture to potentially save the lives of thousands of people is handled poorly by the director. In what is essentially a find the hidden bombs before its too late caper film the lack of tension is all too evident. I was expecting a more action based thriller, but perhaps the film considers itself to be more cerebral than it needs to be. The explicit scenes of torture are fairly exploitative and serve only to make the point that torture is not pretty. Overall some interesting themes have been squandered and the marketing as an action packed thriller may be somewhat off the mark. Poor effort.

 Really Good Movie

I was quite surprised with how good this movie was, it is worth a watch at least. Samuel L Jackson is awesome as always but also Michael Sheen plays a good part aswell.

This may start off as your usual mad bomber has placed 3 bombs somewhere, and they must be found thriller, but it's one of the best i've seen of this nature.
With the bomber in the iterrogation room not willing to give any other information but that of there are 3 bombs out there somewhere ready to give some serious damage, they have no choice but to bring in Jackson's character.
To say he's unorthodox in an understatement,he's clearly sadistic from the get go,dishing out malicious torture.
But with the bomber not willing to give the needed information, other than a false lead or 2,what next? What indeed.
With an end that makes a draconian point,it gets you thinking. Are we justified in doing the unthinkable?
