An Agatha Christie tale told four times on film, this is still the best. Ten guests on an isolated island are murdered one by one. The only clue is a children''s nursery rhyme. A black comedy-mystery with terrific performances, 'And Then There Were None' is adapted beautifully by acclaimed French director Rene Clair.

Ten people are invited to a luxurious island for the weekend by their mysterious host...Mr U. N. Owen.

With all the guests arriving by boat, Mr Owen apologies in a letter stating that he had been detained but would be arriving for dinner.

As time goes by with still no sign of Mr Owen, the guests go to dine. The butler 'Rogers' then plays a gramophone record after dinner as instructed by Mr Owen. Not knowing of its contents, he plays the record.

The voice on the record then starts to relay the reason why all the guests including the butler and maid have been invited to the island. "You have all been charged with the following crimes".

Each with a deadly secret, find themselves trapped on an island where they become the subjects of a cruel game played by none other than Mr U N Owen himself ("Unknown"). One by one, they are found murdererd in accordance with the old nursery rhyme, known as the 'The Ten Little Indians'.

The remaining guests come to the conclusion that Mr Owen can only be one of them! An air of doubt, intrigue and suspense then follows. There are plenty of red herrings in this film to keep you on your toes making this one of the finest whodunnits in movie history.

10/10 Film Quality; 8/10 Picture Quality

This is thus far the best quality print I have viewed.

Superb film, the best by a mile of all adaptations of Agatha Christe's piece de resistence. Don't be deceived by the fact it's over 60 years old, it's fantastic and boasts excellent performances from the entire cast. Awesome.
