Die Hard:
New York cop John McClane, facing Christmas alone, flies to Los Angeles to see his estranged wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) and their kids in an attempt to patch things up. He arrives at his wife's high tech office building in the middle of their Christmas party just as it is gatecrashed by the ruthless master criminal Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) and a dozen fellow activists intent on relieving the Nakatomi Corporation of six hundred million dollars in negotiable bonds...

McClane's a maverick smartass with a distinct disdain for being given orders. He's alone, tired, hurting and the only chance anyone has got. Twelve bad guys, one cop. The odds are against John McClane; just the way he likes it!

Die Hard 2: Die Harder:
They say lightning never strikes twice. They were wrong. John McClane is back in the wrong place at the wrong time; this time he's waiting for the plane with his wife Holly aboard to arrive at Washington's Dulles Airport, when he uncovers a plot to sabotage the airport's landing system. The criminals, led by the psychotic Colonel Stuart (William Sadler), want to free a drug baron who is being extradited to America for trial by holding the airport to ransom until they all safely escape on another plane.

Colonel Stuart and his team have planned a precise military operation right down to the smallest detail. If they'd known that Holly McClane was on a flight home to the very airport they were hijacking, they would have picked another day...
