From the lauded director Baz Luhrmann, comes this wonderfully kitsch and amusing tale of repression and dreams, all set in the super-tanned and garish world of Australian ballroom dancing.

Scott Hastings (Paul Mercurio) is a talented ballroom dancing champion who longs to dance his own steps. this results in being dumped by his partner and chastened by all those around him, except two people. One is Fran, the ugly duckling of the school who persuades him to let her dance with him, and eventually steals his heart. The other is his father, a quiet man dominated by his bejewelled wife. Scott knows in his heart he must follow his dreams, but some are determined to see him fail. The film climaxes at the Australian Championship in a superbly choreographed and heart-warming finale.

I can't believe that noboday has reviewed this movie yet, it's been out since 1992!

Ok then here goes...This movie is quite simply awsome. Thats it, just buy it...go ahead, click "buy now", you will not be dissapointed.

The film is a romantic comedy about ballroom dancing, and funnily enough I normally don't like romantic comdies or ballroom dancing, but this movie pulls it off with both style and flair and has you loving it before you even realise whats happening. The final dance scene will simply knock you out, drag you around the floor pick you up again and then slap you around the face.

Just buy it...OLAY!

 STRICTLY BRILLIANT

The first movie from acclaimed Australian director Baz Luhrmann it as the same sort of feel as Moulin Rouge had to it and is brilliant fun.
Im not a massive fan of dancing films but you cant help but like the simple charms of this tale all he wants to do is dance his way and despite everyone trying to stop him finally gets to dance his steps at the finals.
A great end sequence that is right up there with the end of Dirty Dancing this film will fill you with a happy feeling and have you routing for them to win.
Despite some quirky bits at the beginining i will say stick with this film its great fun and a superb Baz Luhrmann film.

 STRICTLY FABULOUS!!!

I agree this is a really good film, especially if you like films like Dirty Dancing or dance in general. Makes you wish you could learn to dance like them. I first watched it a good few years ago, but still enjoy watching it now, its great! Well worth a watch.
