  A Masterpiece

| | See all deanlowdon's reviews (468)

As the movie opens five well known criminals are rounded up and questioned as to their involvement in the hijacking of a truck full of guns. No one cracks and as the men sit together in jail they hatch a plan for an elaborate diamond heist.

The story is told in the past tense by one of the five men, Verbal Kint, as he sits across from a detective trying to uncover what happened during the attempted heist. This provides a unique twist in that not everything Kint describes is necessarily accurate or true and keeps the viewer constantly guessing as to the true nature of his involvement.

Featuring a fantastic cast The Usual Suspects features a plethora of interesting and entertaining characters, none more so than Kint himself, and by the time the movie reaches its fantastically clever finale most viewers will realise they have just watched a cinematic masterpiece.

  Unusually Predictable

| | See all TheHorror's reviews (6)

Thought I'd give this film a go having seen so many good reviews. It is a good film, but with everyone saying that there was a big twist, I was surprised at how incredibly predictable the ending was, both my wife and I saw it coming from a mile away. However, it is still a good film, with some great characters and superb acting. Only 4 stars as I felt let down by the predictable ending, it was just too obvious.

  Fantastic

One of my favourite films of all time, The Usual Suspects delivers. The plot and twist make it worth watching, and it is high up in the list of "Films To See Before You Die" Kevin Spacey's performance as Verbal Kint is fantastic. An absolute must watch. Its not a film that you have to watch all the time, but its a classic for bringing out when the mood strikes

  Where have you been!

If you haven't seen this film you must surely have been an abduction victim or something. THE twist of all twists is still great to watch and do not believe that this is not worth repeat viewings, it has great acting and a terrific story. Benicio is hilarious. Kevin Spacey without doubt one of the greatest actors i have ever seen. Don't trust that disability though. This DVD is worth the price just for the extras.

  Loved it! But....

| | See all Amjac17's reviews (55)

Well, i was watching T.V with my dad and he came across it on a channel and told me it was a great film and that i should watch it. (He has seen this film many times before) So i did.....Loved it....Don't want to give away any secrets but unless your really smart then you will be shocked at the end. Kevin Spacey was brilliant in this film as he normally is in others. It is a very soft 18 which if it was out nowadays it would probably be a 15. It starts off good then slows down a little just before halfway and you wonder where the plot is going but it soon kicks off again and well.....Just watch it and you will see what i mean! Amazing film, One of my favourites! Has to be 5/5 :)

EDIT: But.....Once you know what happens at the end then every time you watch it, it will get worse. The first time you watch it is the best time but you have to concentrate hard to understand.
