This movie is one of the unsung greats. It shows the lives of some of the crew of HMS Torrin and their families, the happiness, sadness and the humour. Noel Coward, as the ship's Captain is simlpy great and the film shows the affection he has for his crew and they for him. But for me Richard Attenborough steals the show as the crew member who left his post when the ship first saw action.
