City Slickers (1991) is a great adventure comedy starring Billy Crystal, Daniel Stern, Bruno Kirby, Helen Slater and Jack Palance.

The plot revolves around mid-life crisis plagued Mitch Robbins (Crystal) and his two friends (Kirby/Stern) who go on vacation driving cattle across country.

Billy Crystal is very funny in this movie. His character is very sarcastic and Crystal excels with his fast wit and dry delivery. Kirby and Stern are good value in supporting roles but its Jack Palance who steals the show as cowboy boss Curly. Palance won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his tough but funny performance.

Director Ron Underwood (Tremors) does a great job mixing the action, comedy and some pretty deep character building moments. City Slickers is a very funny movie with plenty of excitement and drama. It's very highly recommended. Stay away from the sequel though.

Billy Crystal, Daniel Stern and Bruno Kirby deliver three magnificent comic performances in this classic comedy. Crystal plays Mitch, a fed up family man who goes on an unforgettable trip with his buddies Phil and Ed (Stern and Kirby) and together they experience life as cowboys! Jack Palance also gives an oscar winning performances as real cowboy and tough guy Curly.
A fun ride for everybody!

I used to really like City Slickers as a teenager. Heartwarming, very funny and great scenery. Now, as a 30-something guy, I absolutely adore it.

One of those movies that gets better as *you* age!

My favourite Billy Crystal movie.
