She'll change your life.

Amelie Poulain (Audrey Tautou) is a young woman who glides through the streets of Paris: observing. With wide eyes and a tiny grin, she sees the world in a magical light, discovering minor miracles every day. A shy girl whose favorite moments are spent alone skimming stones into the water, Amelie was raised by a pair of eccentrics who falsely diagnosed her with a heart problem at the age of six and so limited her exposure to the outside world. Now a free and independent woman, Amelie wears a bob that curls in every direction and dresses in red. With a job in a cafe and an aptitude for spying on her neighbors, Amelie entertains herself by enacting a series of homemade, kindhearted practical jokes.

Director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (who co-directed 'Delicatessen' and 'The City Of Lost Children' with Marc Caro) presents 'Amelie', a gorgeous and inventive film.

From the word go I knew I was going to like this movie - it's so quirky and really enjoyable. I've seen some of Jeunet's other work and it's always been well done.

For many years I wasn't sure whether I would fall in love but then I had the good fortune to buy this, take off the wrapper and slide it into the DVD player.

And then it hit me.

Audrey Tautou appears and I'm lost and spend the rest of the film swimming in her beauty. Only problem is, I'm so busy gazing at her beauty that I have no idea what is being said or what is happening in the film.

And so I have to watch it again (and consequently many times) and the story and the way it is shot is as beautiful as Audrey Tautou. This for me is the greatest love story put onto film and I want to proudly shout to the world . ."Yes, I like a chick flick!!". To be honest calling this a chick flick is very unfair as it is far more than a Hollywood chick flick will ever be in terms of plotlines, characters, acting and in heart.

If you haven't seen this then do. Pay whatever it takes to get this DVD and prepare to lose your heart.
