Review

A gay man (Alan Davies) and a straight woman (Lesley Sharp) meet and do the unthinkable - they fall in love. Rose is down to earth, straighforward and funny. Then she meets Bob, a teacher who's certainly not expecting to meet someone like Rose. In their hearts they know they're doing the right thing, but everyone around them thinks they're crazy. Are they hurtling towards the biggest heartache ever? Bob And Rose is an irresistable comedy drama from the pen of Russell T. Davis, creator of Queer As Folk.

I watched this with my mom in the matter of one day. My mom adored the it, and wanted to watch it again and i was very pleased with it also. My mom made me a Lesley fan a few years back, and this is my favourite work from her after Afterlife of course. Some of my favourite scenes is when they first meet and when they are exclusive for the first time. And don't get me started on the opening/closing music, it's so awesome.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars RTD at his best.

This is the best thing Russell T Davies has ever written. And considering this man has given us Queer As Folk, The Second Coming and post 2005-Dr Who, that's really saying something. Brilliantly written and beautifully observed, this drama of a gay man's 'coming out in reverse' (i.e an out gay man who has to confess to friends and family that he's fallen in love with a woman) is a moving yet hilarious piece of work which reminds you how good telly can be.
