Rob Brydon can be seen as a different character again in Marion and Geoff. He plays Keith Barrett, a mini-cab driver, who makes a new and valued friend in Geoff - the man his wife left him for!
A deceptively simple, but killer comedy Marion and Geoff also has the Coogan connection - this time as guest associate producer on this BBC Entertainment production.
This DVD release includes the complete first series.

This was the breakthrough series for Brydon and in my opinion the best thing he's done. The whole concept is simple yet superbly executed by the cast of one.
The film (10 ten minute episodes joined up) is shot from one camera angle (with one or two exceptions) and follows Keith Barrett as he struggles to get through a divorce from his wife Marion, with Geoff being her new boyfriend whom she left him for.
The simplicity of the concept makes it a gruelling experience and you really do go through the highs and lows with Keith, the stationary camera angle meaning there's nowhere for either Keith or you to hide.
I cannot recommend this enough. Buy it, set yourself some time alone to watch it (trust me, it's an emotional experience) and be amazed at how such a simple idea, coupled with an amazing performance from Rob Brydon can bring such breathtaking results.
This truly is a thing of beauty.
