Season 1: The first episode begins at midnight on the day of the California Presidential Primary. Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) heads up the government's Counter-Terrorist Unit. He discovers that there's going to be an assassination attempt on Senator Palmer (Dennis Haysbert), an African-American presidential candidate. Bauer faces a battle against the clock to avert disaster.

The series follows several characters as they live through a day that none of them will forget. For Kimberly (Elisha Cuthbert) a night on the town takes an unexpected turn. Teri (Leslie Hope) sets out to find Kimberly and encounters more danger than she ever imagined possible. Senator Palmer, unaware there's going to be an attempt on his life, faces the threat of a long buried scandal resurfacing. Meanwhile, Jack, with help from his Chief-of-Staff Nina Myers (Sarah Clarke), is charged with the responsibility of stopping the assassination. But who can he trust when it appears a rogue element inside the Agency is in on the hit?

Season 2: Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) and the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) race to prevent a nuclear bomb being detonated by terrorists in Los Angeles in the second season of 24.

Season 3: When the head of a Mexican drug cartel is imprisoned by Jack Bauer (Sutherland), a plot ensues to blackmail the US Government with the threat of a released bio-weapon that will kill millions to ensure his release. With Palmer seeking re-election to a second term, will Jack survive this day?

Season 4: 18 months after day 3, CTU has a new leader, Erin Driscoll, a steely government agent who made firing Jack one of her first priorities. After the explosion of a commuter train, Jack, who is now working for Secretary of Defense James Heller and also is romantically involved with Heller's married daughter, Audrey Raines, suddenly finds himself heading back to CTU for a meeting with Driscoll. Jack believes that the train explosion is a prelude for bigger things to come...

Season 5: 18 months have passed since the events of Day 4. With the exception of David Palmer, Tony Almeida, Michelle Dessler and Chloe O'Brian, the world believes that Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is dead...
Jack is, in fact, living under the name of Frank Flynn and conceals his identity by taking a manual job on an oil rig. However, when President Logan is placed at the centre of a labyrinthine conspiracy involving the signing of a vital U.S. - Russian arms treaty, Jack is forced back into action!

Season 6: Season 6 picks up 20 months after last season's shocking season finale, when Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) was captured by Chinese government agents - battered, bloodied and header for points unknown. Wayne Palmer (DB Woodside) is now the President of the United States. After a series of horrific terrorist attacks, Palmer and his team of advisors begin an unthinkable nail-biting day.

Season 7: The eagerly anticipated Season 7 starts with Jack being forced to stand trial for human rights violations after returning from Africa, but he is soon drafted back into action when terrorists threaten America's national security by taking control of its communication systems. As Bauer sets out to uncover who is behind the menacing plot, he discovers an old friend he believed to be dead could be involved.

Redemption: On they day of the Presidential Inauguration, Jack Bauer finds himself in the midst of a bloody uprising in the small African nation of Sangala. He must risk his life to transport a group or orphans to the American Embassy and sacrifice his own freedom to ensure that they are evacuated out of the country and make it safely to America.

24 is probably one of the most iconic shows around, it delivers so many and i mean many thrills and twists and turns throughout its run and is the show that introduced us to Jack Bauer, The show has had its ups and downs regarding plotlines in namely seasons 4 and 6 but 24 is still on top form.

Season One is the most suspenseful, it was so new and original at the time it was aired and still stays strong as the best season to date offering mind blowing twists with the revelation of a traitor in their midst and the dramatic season finale which will leave you stunned.

The second season is still good but loses some of its action due to the political turn the show took, CTU is still there with more betrayals and twists ahead and yet another cliff-hanger season finale.

The third season gets back to basics and is great, delving more into the old and new Characters and showing Jack as a drug addict while trying to stop a deadly virus from spreading across LA, old enemies re-surface and face the wrath of Jack with stunning results all leading to the so-so finale of such a great season that was let down in its last 'power-hour'.

The fourth series is probably the biggest let down, due to the fact half of the cast have disappeared and been replaced with new ones, Jack no longer working for CTU and the storyline was pretty weak. Over the run of the season a few original characters return giving it a much needed boost, but overall a bit of a let down.

Now the fifth season, obviously having learned from mistakes of season four, open the season with jaw-dropping developments and really show that in 24, no one is safe as several of major characters are killed off from the show, and just when you thought it couldn't get any better the season delivers great mystery and action non-stop for every episode, most notable was the 100th episode of the show, showing that even CTU isn't safe from terrorists, best season since the third.

With 24 there seems to be a pattern of which the even numbered seasons are a let down, 2, 4, and 6, yes, unfortunately after the incredible fifth the sixth stays true to that pattern by probably been the worst season to date. It was as if the writers were so worn out from the season before they just wrote anything to get a full series out of it, bringing some of Jack's family into the show was a bad idea and did not pay off well, its still worth a watch if you're a fan of 24 but it will seem a bit dull, even the idea of David Palmer's brother been the president, such a bad idea.

Redemption was brought about due to the long gap between season's because of the writers strike as a quick little fill in, it is a good little prequel to prepare us for the seventh but doesn't really give us more than just a setup for what is to come.

After the disastrous Season before hand, I kept my hopes low thinking that 24 was never going to be as good as it used to be, but I was wrong, its action from the word go with some great new characters and some surprise returns from old ones too, it seems the 18 month gap did the show some justice and here it delivers one of its most gripping seasons with some truly original ideas and great bad guys.

This is a must buy for any Jack Fan and if you're a newcomer then buy this box it is totally worth it, you'll never look back.

Without a doubt 24 is an amazing program. I firmly believe that to some degree, Barack Obama would not be in the White House had it not been for many americans watching Dennis Haysbert do a sterling and very presidential job as President Palmer, and getting an insight into what it would be like to have a African-American president. Sutherland is great as Jack Bauer as always, but i think its the supporting cast that make the show. In my opinion, Season 2 & 5 are the best and most dramatic. Season 7 is a bit erratic but bring on Season 8, based at CTU New York!!
