Review

This is a day Dante will never forget. His day rudely begins at 6am, when he discovers that he has to work on his day off: a hilarious day in which he has to survive his girlfriend's graphic sexual confessions, a mad hockey team and a constant stream of offensive customers. The director Kevin Smith, an ex-employee of the Quick Stop convenience store, filmed 'Clerks' in the store after hours. A purveyor of now classic razor sharp dialogue, Smith was given the Independent Spirit Award at the 2005 Empire Magazine Awards.

This low budget movie was a huge cult hit in a year of blockbusters and its poularity remains as strong today.
Kevin Smith found an outlet to say the things many of us feel and applied his humour brilliantly.
It follows a day in the life of Randall and Dante, best friends and worst of enemies, working the mundane life of shop clerks. Dante, the quiet reserved type and Randall, the loud mouthed and offensive friend with a heart. Their dialogue is wonderful and at times genuinely funny and the customers themselves provide plenty of laughs with their unusual but believable antics.
Overall this is an entertaining, sometimes risque comedy with a warm feeling throughout and a must see for all.
A great introduction to the work of Kevin Smith.
