OK I love Harry Potter, I loved the books and all the films thus far and so was quite excited about my newly purchased disk.

Harry Potter has gone through the HD experience with some style, a stunning film transfer that for the majority seems excellent. Dolby Digital Plus provides the audio encoding and for this film it seems incredibly full placing great tones and cleaner compressions against the previos DVD release.

On certain scenes you'll eyes tend to stray from the actions on screen to those of the background and the individual bricks you can clearly see all the texture on with no loss of quality. If anything the Dragon fight seems to explode as a truely remarkable example of HD DVD.

However in some places throughout the film the transfer goes incredibly dark, to the point of questioning if you might need to adjust the contrast slightly to see whats going on! But this small quib only seems to affect a small handful of scenes and does not subtract anything from… more »

Finally the last comment must go to the extras on the disk, the in movie experience is brillant fact, with the PiP providing a full host of useful information, the negative to all this is having George and Fred guide you through the film adds a slightly amusing factor which does tend to annoy after 10 minutes into the commentary.

Great Film could of had a slightly better transfer or maybe I'm just niggling at the small things but altogether an excellent package.
