From acclaimed musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie comes an entirely new take on the highly successful and terrifying Halloween legacy that began in 1978. While revealing a new chapter in the established Michael Myers saga, the film will surprise both classic and modern horror fans with a departure from prior films in the Halloween franchise. Audiences should brace themselves for unprecedented fear as Zombie turns back time to uncover the making of a pathologically disturbed, even cursed child named Michael Myers.

When you get a title like 'unrated' its easy to expect needless gore and even needless sex, both of which this film contained. It is also a very long film that could have been broken up into two, maybe even three films.

The first part of the film deals with Mike as a psychopathic child and how he deals with his bullies. As you can guess, he kills them and his family in the nastiest ways. There are some fantastic 'shock' moments but the violence becomes too much and it somewhat loses that shock value. Fantastic acting by young Mike though.

The second part is the time he spends within the confines of the mental hospital. There is a good 20mins to half an hour where very little happens bar Mike making masks and wearing them. After another act of violence we see him as a grown up. Whereas in the very original Mike is played by an average human being, here he is muscular and a giant, making him a real monster (I prefer the thought of him being 'average', but thats my taste)

After a violent break out the third part begins, which follows the original story to some degree. He hunts down his long lost sister, kills a lot of people...and in the end...well I won't spoil it. Fans of the original will tear this part to shreds in particular, as will anyone who likes some accuracy, but another part filled with lots of moments to make you jump (if you don't see them coming a mile off)

All in all, not my cup of tea, but (alas) one of the better remakes of this classic horror.

 Can't give it no stars

If i could give it no stars i would, we start with a painful attempt to give a reason behind all the killings. In fact i can't be bothered to write anymore because the script writer if there was one couldn't be bothered to give us a plot.

 zombie has done it again

A Brilliant film.

It remains faithful to the original but it also expands on it. A great remake of one of the greatest slasher films of them all

Forget Wes Craven Forget George A. Romero. Rob Zombie is the new master of horror.

ignore Bloops review (he or she is wrong) and buy this film
