John Gotti broke a few of the old family rules to rise up to become the head of the Gambino family and the most infamous mafia boss in America. Known as the Dapper Don for his expensive taste in suits, he earned a reputation as the Teflon Don because none of the FBI allegations against him would stick. But suspicion, greed, and his high public profile all worked together to bring him down.

Here's the story of a rough New York gangster who rose right to the top of his family, and right to the top of the celebrity list. The movie gives you insight into the man and his life, it portrays Gotti honestly, showing his charm and charisma, but also his cut-throat attitude which got him to the top. The acting is surprisingly good or a list of smaller named actors, the directing and story also works in keeping you glued to the screen. Of course, there are some inaccuracies in the story, some facts which have been twisted slightly for hollywood, but non of which change the overall facts. Gotti is a good movie about one of America's most notorious criminals, it entertains and tells the story of a man who got so caught up in himself he didn't see the world collapsing around him.

so far this is the best account ive seen of the daper dons life. armand assante is excellent. william forsythe is not the best as gravano but it still works. should only be a 15 as there is nothing very violent or sexual in this film. i like it and it should be issued on region 2.
