Full-HD NeoPDP Plasma TV with Freeview HD & Freesat HD built-in, 600Hz Sub-field Drive Intelligent Frame Creation Pro, Infinite Black and THX Mode

The G20 Series includes a DVB-S tuner for Freesat HD and a DVB-T2 tuner for Freeview HD providing you with a convenient, subscription free way of watching HD contents like sport, as well as your favourite soaps, dramas and documentaries in full HD glory wherever you are in the UK*.

600Hz Sub-field Drive technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images with 1,080 lines of resolution. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into data. And each frame is practically displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects. *When using Cinema mode.

A contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 enables VIERA to display extremely robust blacks. A new filter, improvements to the cell discharge area, and enhanced cell performance have greatly increased luminous efficiency to produce crisp blacks. And minimising the electrical pre-discharge helps to both raise contrast and save energy.

THX reproduces film images exactly as the film's creators intended them. The overall aim was to improve the experience of cinema-goers and faithfully recreate the audio and visual ambience that filmmakers intended. To receive THX certification, TVs undergo stringent tests to determine, for example, whether the exact same brightness and colour are displayed at all screen locations, and whether black levels satisfy standard criteria. VIERA meets the high standards set by the THX Certified Display Program.

Enjoy Internet content right on your TV. With VIERA CAST you can enjoy online videos, photos, and more. You can also check sports, news, weather and stock information with an easy-to-use Web interface that's built into the TV. What's more, VIERA CAST's assorted online content has new additions, including the remarkably popular SkypeTM and Twitter® applications. VIERA CAST not only offers unique web entertainment but also expands your forms of communication.

It's easy to view full-HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. An easy-to-see, easy-to-use thumbnail display has also been added. You can also enjoy special background music, slideshow frames and transition effects.

*Following a one off installation payment for Freesat services whereas for Freeview HD you will need to ensure coverage is available in your local area.

 Amazing TV

Had for about 6 months now and am very happy with it. Out performs any other TV i have ever seen. The only negative is HDD recording is limited to the channel you are watching.

an all round great product, sound is average, as you would expect from tv speakers, but perfectly ok for general viewing, but expect to connect to an av system for the full surround effect.
Picture out of the box is ok, but is amazing once tweeked using the THX and manual adjustments, i found some great settings on the net. see this link,
And now its the best picture i have seen, and i work in the tv industry. Very pleased with this model.

10th April 2010:
I bought this tv which replaced a 2 month old faulty LG LCD TV, as I write this review my panasonic is not even 24hrs old But what a treat it has been. I think I will need 24 days to get to know all of this tv's functions.
Once unpacked and assembled which took no time, turned on unit and it started its auto setup(found freeview/freesat channels very quick).
STD DEF: Very impressed as long as you don't get to close but thats std with SD viewing(you may have to tweak picture functions to suit your viewing).
HIGH DEF: This is where this tv steps up several gears or from AUDI to FERRARI. What a treat to the eye.
DVD: Yet to try.
BLU-RAY: Yet to try.
SOUND: Copes very well with Tv broadcasts but like most flat screens I would recommend home cinema system for dvd & blu-ray playback.
I would not be surprised to see this Tv winning awards just like the G10's did.

14th April 2010
I have now watched Blu-ray and Dvd formats and the playback is simply stunning. Dvd playback was viewed using a Sony upscaling player which produces picture quality on a par with the Blu-ray format. I have also setup viera cast, i found it to be a bit limited but knowing Panasonic it will inprove.
