I didn't plan on getting a TV with this many features and quality. I was going to go for a cheap LG LCD TV costing a mere 300 quid.
The main features that made me interested in this TV were Freeview HD, the look, LED technology and the SMART TV functionality that Samsung have.
When I removed it from the box, I first noticed how thin it was, of course it being LED, I was expecting that but it looks so nice with this thing bezel going around the screen. It also has touch sensitive buttons at the front that look flush on the glossy black plastic.
Very easy to set up for the first time, just go through the common options, tune in the TV and configure the other options like picture sound and features yourself to suit you. There are plenty of picture options to fine tune
I wanted to see what Freeview HD displayed like as I have only seen the likes on Freeview HD on Sky HD. And I was surprised to see the results. Even it going through an old Arial the picture looks fantastic; as good as the Sky feed no complaints there. I have my Sony surround connected via optical that works well on surround sound so unable to comment on TV speaker quality but I have heard from other sources that the sound quality on this TV is good. Playing Xbox, picture quality is again, fantastic with no input lag or motion blur I can see and I am very fussy about that kind of thing.
Freeview SD, very good for the quality of SD standards on Freeview these days but of course, not up there with HD Freeview channels.
The internet features is what really makes this TV stand out from the rest, because of it's in built Ethernet port, you can hook it up to your router and when you launch the smart TV feature you can access features such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, BBC iplayer, Love Film etc. And more Apps to download. And I have tried them all out and they work pretty well, not as fast as they would on a computer but it's a TV so you got to expect that.
Media server also works very well, for those of you with Xbox or PS3 and uses the media server; it works just like that only with a different interface. Found all my media on both the Laptop and PC running windows 7. The stream quality was good and fast.
Do I don't think you can go wrong with Samsung TV these days, especially when it comes down to features.
