Sony Bravia S Series 37 inch 37S5500 HD 1080p Freeview Widescreen LCD TV

I bought this TV as a replacement for my old samsung 26 LCD. SInce seeing it on play i was convinced i wanted a Sony due to the perception of better quality and picture etc etc.

This is a fine piece of Sony. Its much better built than my old samsung and just as easy to set up. Sky HD and PS3 look amazing in 1080p. This is not the best 37 tv around and as I have read from other sources the sony makes a very good upgrade or good starter for the first time buyer. However nothing comes close to this amount of tv at this price point.

However the only niggle is the in built in speakers are shocking if asked to deal with anything than day time television. The best way to avoid the horrible rattle of over loaded speakers, is to lower the bass as low as possible and tweak the treble.

All in all i looked at all its competitors and still went with the sony and am absolutely sold on it. A fine television that compliments your HD needs.

1080 on Ps3 and Sky HD lookes so crisp!! The standard picture setting looks spot on to me!
Only slight thing is delay on switching between different inputs (but i think this might be as in power saving mode)

I'm seriously considering purchasing this TV, but wanted some advise from those already have it. My current 720p Samsung Series 4 really struggles with motion blur even on Blu rays played on my PS3- especially on face detail, even on my copy of Braveheart. This can't be allowed to continue, can you advise how the Sony handles fast moving sceens??Cheers

100% recommended. its the 4th LCD TV we have had and by far the best.

I bought this on the amazing 70%sale. Its absolutley brilliant, the picture the sound quality. The only niggly thing I picked up on that on the remote control it has no tele text button BUT that doesnt make it a bad tv. I'd recommend this to anybody who wants to buy a quality LCD tv on a great budget!!!!
