Having read several reviews on the popular Sony model, I decided to go for the Samsung as I have a Samsung HDTV plus I've had Sonys before and they have failed on me.

This player is very easy to use, looks good has touch sensitive panal on the front for Play, Pause etc... RC is compatible with my Samsung TV although it should operate other brands it says in the manual.

Connected to the internet with no problem (wired connection). Blu-rays are stunningly good and DVDs are upscaled and look good too! In some cases better than on a DVD player.

The only downside is the Internet@TV that Samsung have. BBC iPlayer isn't available yet! LoveFilm, Facebook and the TV guide thingy aren't working either. Yes, YouTube is and a few others, but without the BBC iPlayer it's not worth connecting to the Internet for!

Yes you also get 6 films free with it. That must be a value of sixty pounds, so in terms of money, grab a bargain while you can!

Great for watching Blu-rays and DVDs not so great for the Internet@ TV as of yet.

I decided to have a complete overhaul of my home entertainment set-up and bought this at the sametime as a new Samsung TV.
I am glad that I did.
The load times are very quick and the controls on the actual player are very light to the touch which feels nice.
I have also found that its remote is interchangeable with the one I received with my tv which can be handy when fumbling for it in the dark.
You get six films with it and they are a nice mixture. Just think what six Blu-rays are worth and then take that off the price of the whole package and you are effectively getting a player for around sixty pounds.

 Dreadul upscaling...

Tried one of these in the shops with a 40" Sharp Quattron TV, with a Hero dvd which plays great on my upscaling HD Recorder at home, but on this upscaling was disastrously bad. Blocky, some color bleeding. Would strongly recommend you have a look for yourself before you buy one of these.

 Excellent value for money

Having had one of the early samsung players, I decided this was a too good an offer to miss to upgrade my deck. The player output looks even better than my original deck plus it is easily changed to multi-region DVD playback (not multi-region Bluray) with a few key presses on the remote which I discovered using a quick google search .

The player also runs much cooler than the first generation decks and is half the size and weight.

The internet tv and apps held my interest for about ten seconds, I can't see me using them much. The main gripe was when I played a YouTube video I got a blast of advert at double the normal volume. Might just have been that one video, but it's not a feature I bought the deck for.

It did take a little setting up to get the sound output into the right format for my AV amp, but so do most decks.

For a hundred quid including postage and six bluray titles this is a brilliant offer. As usual Play delivered within a few days. Excellent.
