There is a way round most complications and the Ipod video is no different, its just a question of figuring out how. The worse things about the Ipod video is the lack of battery life for watching films on, I bought mine as entertainment for at work when I had a break etc, if its plugged into your car or computer its fine, but if your away and staying away from a charging point for along time then you probably only get about 2hrs video time max and around 10-15hrs music time depending if the backlight is on or off. The other big thing which would have been handy would be an in-built speaker, this would have made things handy if on the move with friends, however its not essential. The only other thing is itunes and it not selling films or tv shows, I think this defeats the object of having a video ipod. This is where knowing things comes in handy. If you know what your doing and have the right software (all free from the internet) you can put all your favourite DVDs onto your Ipod bypassing the whole copyright protection on the DVD (though this takes around 2-3hrs for each film after conversion) people also have trouble putting songs bought off napster or other popular programs onto the Ipod due to itunes, this is easilly bypassed by putting the songs onto CD first and then transferring them onto Itunes. All in all a decent gadget with a great screen which, used correctly can provide you with endless music, photos, games and movies.
