Music has a whole new feel.
iPod nano has been completely redesigned with Multi-Touch - the same technology that makes iPhone, iPad and iPod touch so amazing. Now it's half the size and even easier to play. And everything you want to hear is just a tap or swipe away.

In sleek anodised aluminium and seven bright colours, iPod nano makes a huge statement: you are, most definitely, ready to rock

Shake to shuffle

Shake it up.
Now for something completely random. Give iPod nano a shake and it shuffles to a different song in your music library. Shake to Shuffle is perfect for when you're not in any particular music mood. You never know what you're going to hear, and you'll always be pleasantly surprised.

Apple have taken away the ability of playing videos for the 6th Gen Ipod nanos, Id rather have video playback than a ridiculously small touch screen... In my opinion anyway. Save yourself some money and get the 5th gen Nano if you share my opinion

The new nano is a well designed small music player. It's light weight, has a clear responsive touch screen and good quality audio. It is a shame it doesn't have a alarm clock, but it does have a stopwatch and countdown timer. Timer alarm plays through the headphones only, as there is no built in speaker. Lack of video isn't a problem, all nano's are too small to watch comfortably, buy a iPod touch for watching video.

I have wanted an Ipod since they came out, and after years of me buying " fake ipods" i thought it was time to suck it up and buy one. And i am so pleased with this purchase. It's a straight music player, just what i wanted. People who don't like it because of the loss of video camera on the nano version are a little lost thats not what having an ipod is about, you can take pictures with a phone ? and if you wanted your ipod to take photos ect.. buy the touch model. The size is perfect its nice and small " Cute " if you will and the touch screen is easy to get used to , which i am glad about as i could never work the wheel on the old ipods when i used to use my friends. So if you want a small sized very decent music player, look no futher as you have found it in the new ipod nano :)

Good for basic sports and audio uses. At a price...

As a music player, this isn't bad. The touch screen controls are easy to navigate and iTunes works in the usual way for adding music or playlists. The outer is nicely made in brushed aluminum, with an integrated belt clip. For on-the-go usage the touch screen interface is very easy indeed.

However, the FM radio is a damp squib in the rural area where I live and work: it's technically there, but the reception is so poor is might as well not be.

One of the features of this generation of iPods is that it CAN also double as a watch - but this IMO is not one of the better features. The iPod is generally so battery hungry that it's suboptimal as a watch, and although it's small as an iPod as a watch face it's HUGE and cumbersome...

Furthermore wristwatch implementations are very dependent on third party support. To date available watch conversion wristbands generally seem to be unisex and erring on the larger side.

The sports features are a good thing - but also require additional support: in the form of a Nike plus sensor and either Nike plus shoes or a third party converter.

Nearly 2 years after the release of this style of nano the range of cases available is still very limited - most seen to consist of basic frames that wrap around the aluminium housing, but do nothing to protect the screen. The best I've been able to do is a film-style screen protector.

It all seems to add up to a nice enough (though pricey) music player which is capable of a good bit more if you're willing to pay for the added features.

I bought this thinking it would be the best model for workout usage - but don't find it a significant improvement on previous generations of Nano. As a day-to-day player I regret the absence of video features, the continuing need for third-party support and the small interface. It's nice enough but probably not the iPod I'd be aiming to buy next time.
