um i got my i pod in dec 07 and its still working so that is really good. its battery life is really long. and my battery is still going strong. however i think it would be better if you actually got a charger with your i pod as it is annoying having to turn on your computer every time the battery runs low. also it freezes a lot this is really annoying cause you might have just charged it and then it would freeze and you have to wait until the battery runs down thais can take a day. this happens to my friends aswell who own the same i pod i believe it happens with almost any i pod. however if it happens to you just hold the center and menu button together this should unfreeze it i found this out after a year! the 8 GB holds plenty of songs and is more then sufficient. also the screen may look small but you can easily watch movies and music vids on it. also the blue color is totally awesome. you can store lots of pics in it too thats way cool:] oh and you can play solitaire and a music quiz on it which is always good:]
