These headphones are just stunning! If you are willing to spend the money, buy these. You do have to break them in at first, unlike the rather poor review iv seen on this site, he obviously didnt know that good headphones need time to break in. The packaging is a big of a pain, but the headphones are worth it.
Getting the right fit for your ears takes some time, but do persist! Its well worth it, the sound you get is the best you will hear from any earbud headphones. After all, shure se310's are the best.
Ignore the bad review and buy these, they are the best headphones i have ever owned.

     Rubbish. Avoid at all costs.

This is the first time I've been moved to write a review of any product that I've bought online (and I buy online very regularly).

Having spent 20 minutes cutting the headphones out of their thick plastic casing, using a stanley knife and two pairs of scissors, and depositing the huge case in the non-recycling bin, I set about getting the all-important "fit" right for my ears.

I found the set of ear plugs that fit me best and ensured they were totally in my ear canals. I pressed play on my ipod and the sound quality came through crystal clear. However, I was extremely unimpressed about the bass. There is NONE at all. Not even in the same league as very cheap headphones. I tried turning up the bass on the Ipod's EQ, but even on a lossless-encoded track, the quality declined heavily.

I tried other ear buds, just incase the lack of bass was caused by the fit, but could not get any improvement at all.

These are supposedly "professional" headphones, yet they sound worse than the ones that come with the Ipod!. I cannot stress this enough - AVOID at all costs.

As I'm sure you will agree, the earphones that come with most mp3 players are just not up to scratch-they break easily, have poor bass and sound range and are basically your bulk-standard, run of the mill earphones.
I hadn't heard of Shure when looking for earphones but they have more than exceeded expectations.
First things first, be patient when getting them to fit. At first i had doubts but it is vital that you get a good seal to ensure A-they fit properly and B-the sound isolation can work correctly. They come with different types of sound isolating sleeves ( soft flex tips S,M,L, foam tips S,M,L and a pair of triple flange tips.) Also included in the kit comes a sturdy, compact carry case. The modular cable is 3 foot long and unlike many earphone cables, they will not fray or break as thick cables and joins will prove. The earphones themselves are very stylish with silver streak and logo on the outside.
The audio quality is extremely good for earphones-the sound is rich and balanced, with Tuned BassPort providing that little extra bass for those desired songs. Overall these earphones are an extremely good buy and although, they carry a fairly hefty price tag, are worth the money if you are after a reliable, quality pair of earphones.

These are great... obviously like any decent audio product these need a run in. I've about 20 hours on mine and the Bass is sublime.. they were a bit harsh straight out of the box but leave them playing for a while and you'll be well rewarded.

I'm really happy with these and can honestly say they are among some of the best headphones I've had the pleasure of listening to.

All in all a very solid product. I used to have the E3Cs before the SE310s, but managed to step on and break my old pair. Hence a new set had to be purchased.

Fit is excellent once you find the right set of sleeves for your ears. Not good for riding on your bike as you will not hear traffic noise at all.

Sound quality is excellent, though strangely I don't think it is as good as the predecessor model, the E3Cs. Sound is slightly less "full". Bass is good on both models.

If you have the opportunity of buying an old pair of E3Cs on the cheap do so. If not, the SE310s are very good earphones indeed.
