I got my Bloggie a few weeks ago, but waited til now to review it for good reason. So, here it is...
The Bloggie is VERY simple to use. All you do is flip the lens to switch the camera on and press record. The only way it can be made easier is by looking at something with your eyes and remembering. It doesn't get much easier and more user friendly than the Bloggie.
What I HAVE noticed is that when recording video, you DO need to give the record button a good little shove. Otherwise after recording your video, you go to check it back and you find a blue thumbnail on the playback menu where your video should be. If you don't press down hard enough, the recording will be faulty and won't work. And the moment is gone.
The Bloggie has a 29:49 continuous recording limit. This means after recording a video for 29mins 49secs continually, the camera will automatically stop recording.
I primarily bought this camera for concerts etc. Almost all reviews i've seen of the Bloggie state that in dark settings the camera pretty much fails on all levels. This is partially true. In everyday settings where lighting might be below average, the camera doesn't work very well. HOWEVER, if you take this to a concert - it works great! With all the stage lighting it works great and the video quality is superb. In daylight and well lit settings, the picture quality is very good also and brings out colours very well.
Sound quality is great. The mic pics up a good amount of ambient noise. This could be a good or bad thing - depending on your tastes. But remember - if used in a concert, the volume from the speakers will be very loud and will most likely result in some distortion of sound in the video.
*NOTE* My camera did not come with 360 lens (i bought my Bloggie elsewhere), This is why i have not been able to review the 360 lens.
Battery life is pretty good. On a full charge, i can get almost 2 hours of recording time (with videos an average of 29 mins in length). You may want to buy a replacement battery as I have. Charging time is quite long. On an empty battery, a full charge takes around 2hrs 30mins and can ONLY be charged by USB. So, if like me you go away for long weekends etc and have no access to a computer for 2.5 hours, a replacement battery is a good investment. Replacement batteries cost around 10 pounds.
OVERALL = The camera is VERY easy to use, VERY convenient and GREAT value for money. The Bloggie is almost EXACTLY the same same size as my mobile phone (samsung Tocco lite), so the Bloggie fits easily in your pocket. Battery life is pretty good, but a replacement battery is recommended. Works great in concert settings and great in well lit/daylight settings. Not very good in dark rooms and other poorly lit settings.
I love my Bloggie and for 75 pounds it's great value for money and a great buy for the casual user.
