I bought this to record from my Sagem internet radio. It says that it must be connected to the radio for at least 12 hours so that it can learn that particular station. I used the line in option to connect to my radio and after 14 hours nothing had recorded. The instructions aren't very clear for line in/internet radio recording. So through trial and error I found that before you connect your line in cable, use the on board fm radio and tune into a strong signal (for me it was 101.9 fm), then connect the line in cable to the rebel and the other end to the headphone socket on the internet radio. Make sure the volume on the internet radio is at a reasonable level. Put the volume of the rebel to zero and press the menu button until you see the radio frequency on the display (101.9 fm). Within 1 hour I had 2 tracks recorded. I left it on overnight and it recorded 6 tracks, I'm hoping as time goes by it will record more tracks per hour. The tracks aren't the best quality in the world but for what this machine does, I am very happy with it and Play.com have this at an excellent price. It is also a stand alone fm radio and it can play mp3 tracks from a flash drive or sd card. To copy the tracks from the internal memory, just insert a flashdrive or sd card and it automatically copies. I haven't tried this yet but I read that if you unplug the rebel, you lose all your tracks on the internal memory, also you have to relearn your favourite station, you also have to relearn the station if you don't listen to it within 3 days. As I have only had this 2 days, it is going to take a bit of time to get it working the way I want it to. I gave it 4 stars as it shouldn't take so long to learn a station and it doesn't name the tracks.

A quick update, I have the Rebel tuned into and internet station playing 80's songs and it practically records every song with the exception of 1 or 2, so once it learns the station it will record more and more. 90% of the time, they are full tracks, faded in and out.

Once it learns the station the PopCatcher logo is lit on the display and will flash when it starts to record.

I put my flashdrive into the Rebel, copy the songs onto it and take it to the car and plug it in and I have to say the sound is great.

I am very pleased with this product, so much so I have ordered another one for a Family member.

A neat little unit that works great on FM (I haven't tried it on the direct input). Takes a day or so to grab a decent number of tracks but I just left it on showing the clock display and the memory was soon full of tunes. There's sometimes some overlap from the DJ - but not a great deal and its pretty impressive how well it does the job.
