Top 100 Electronics Reviewer

WOW.....NEVER EXPECTED THAT, only bought these to last me over till I got a dcent set but these ARE certainly decent. The comfort is just great, getting even more comfy with each wear, sits great on the head and cushions the ears perfectly, like an old pair of slippers.
SOUND...just amazing, clear, defined so much more than you would expect from a set in this price range. Am so very pleased, go on and buy them, you won't regret it.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars  Well worth the money!

Bought these the other day and here's what I have to say:

1. Affordable.
2. Light wieght.
3. Great Sound.
4. Lots of(but not overpowering) bass.
5. Comfortable to wear.
6. Look Snazzy.
7. Generously long 3.5m cable.
8. Two different sound settings depending on what your using them for. Movies or Music. I'm still not sure what the difference is, but the feature is there.
9. Has an easily removable 1/4 inch plug(e.g. Guitar Amp/effects pedal) that makes it a 3.5mm plug(e.g. MP3 Players).

As you can see I have nothing bad at all to say really!

Overall: 5 Stars! For this price Sony give you a very good deal! I got these for the lenghty cable to use on my guitar. For a while I used to sitting on the ground hunched over my effects pedal with my Sennheiser CX-300s(see review! :D) because of the short cable, but not anymore!

Hope this helps!

Not only do these headphones have amazing sound quality and all the other stuff you've read about them, they're incredibly strong.

My pair (which I've had for the best part of a year) have withstood falling several metres from my landing, being thrown at me by an angry girlfriend (which has broken a fair few of my other posessions), not to mention numerous hard tugs on the cable and several other incidents ofabuse, intentional or otherwise, and the sound quality is as good as theday I bought them, as is the integrity; no cracks or breaks and hardly any scuffing.

If you're looking for the best pair headphones in this price-range (and probably the ones above too), then STOP NOW; you're search has ended.

i have bought it after very reading all reviews i found it not very nice as you can't play all the music properly as only new and digital music play marvelous,i tried it on you tube i was not really happy though as my house mate has hitachi headphone he bought it 3 years ago it plays amazing on all the music even on tv gives nice sharpness only the bass is not like sony has but on you tube its fabulous, anyway as a price of 12.99 its okay .
the main point is you cant play all the music on it as my house mate had hitachi one can play all music v nice as hitachi is not really big electronic company as compare to sony but this head phone beat sony.:)

These headphones have to be the best I have ever come across, such awesome sound quality and Bass make the XD-200's one for the avid gamer or music lover.
I have had a pair for well over a year and they have survived through thick and thin.
I could never buy any other headphones.. Compared to these, other headphones of similar/higher price trail behind.

These will work with MP3/Walkman then I guess? They're a very nice pair of headphones. I'm traveling to Florida this year and I've always had smaller headphones, but I want a change in headphones so I think, if these will work. I will purchase.

Studied play.com for ages looking for decent but affordable headphones. After nearly getting some £25 sennheisers i settled for these. They advertise a 10hz lower freq response. This is definitely not true which is unfortunate as that is what i based the purchase on!!

All in all they are very standard looking. Comfy enough, good long lead etc but are slightly too light and feel a little plasticy.

Sound-wise i would say substandard. Quite a lot of sound leeching so wouldnt recommend for the bus, unless u like to share (which apparently everybody with a taste for speed jungle does!) bass response is pretty poor, maybe its the shielding of the phones, even at high volumes you feel quite separate from the music, not immersed as you can with decent high-end gear. Turned up past medium volume the bass distorts and the sound feels very cheap.

Oh and the music to film switch on the bottom is entirely useless, supposed to get a bass boost for the film setting but have yet to hear a difference.

Overall, if you are looking for comfy, standard sounding, cheap headphones with no applications other than watching a sneaky movie at night, you have yourself a winner. If you want anything beyond that, like some bass response for example, keep on searching and probably dont be a tight-wad like me.

very light and comfortable to wear...probably the best thing about these headphones! sound quality is so-so. I get a LOT better from my sennheiser cx-300's. not very sound-proof..they leak sound and do not really block out much when you're wearing them.
I got these because I find wearing my sennheiser's for a long period of time can be quite uncomfortable and wanted something that could solve that problem (over ear headphones) and still consistently deliver good quality low and high frequencies. The MDR XD200's do deliver when it comes to comfort, long lead, style and weight , but the sound is not so impressive. It distorts when you push the volume up just a little and the bass is very disappointing and does the songs no justice.

The price is reflective of the quality you get....my advice...spend a little more and get better quality headphones!!
