Sony MDR-NC500 Digital Noise Cancelling Headphones

These 'phones are incredible. I paid far more than the 179 that Play are selling these for and at that price you are getting Bose/Denon beating headphones. The noise cancelling element has made some recent longhaul flights very easy. I have read some negative reviews of these but I can't really see what people are complaining about. There is a comment I have noted that the Bass isn't ealistic enough. I am an audiphile and I can tell you the Bass handles perfectly. I have an eclectic music taste from bands like pearl Jam all the way to Massive Attack. The ultimate test is listening to Massive attack "angel" on these and you will not be dissapointed.

Price wise, 179 for a pair of headphones which I think are worth almost more than this. Build qualiy is second to one, I used my on some fairly rough terrain and dropped them a couple of times with no damage and no scratches! A very light and comfortable set of true digital 'phones for a great price.

These are truly amazing headphones and with the hefty price tag you get exactly what you pay for - top of the range noise cancelling headphones. What I love best is the intense bass, far better than bose and the built quality can be faulted.
Seriously you wont be disappointed and play sell them the cheapest! The way music is suppose to be heard!

Before purchasing these headphones I read some very mixed reviews about them, many people had mentioned poor quality sound and a "warbling" sound. Since purchasing these headpones I have enjoyed listened to my music through them with no "warbling" sound experienced at all for many hours. The overall sound quality is fantastic with very good mid and highs and good bass performance. The headphones are extremely comfortable, and fit tight, yet well cushioned around the ears. The cary case is a little on the large side, but luxurious and has a designated space for the headphones and all accessories. The AI noise cancelling works very well, automatically monitoring outside noise the automitcally select the best noise cancelling profile, these can however also be manually adjusted. I wouldn't say they get rid of the claimed 99% noise, but they are extremely effective. These are a great buy, I'd highy recommend!
