The SD and SDHC memory card is a highly secure stamp-sized flash memory card, which can be used in a variety of digital products: digital music players, cellular phones, handheld PCs, digital cameras, digital video camcorders, smart phones, car navigation systems and electronic books.

What is SDHC?
To support the higher capacity needs, SD cards are now requiring a different design. The new SD 2.0 specifications - which supports 4GB and up - is called Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC). The SD Association has created and defined 3 speed classes to help you identify speed and performance capabilities/minimum requirements of SDHC cards and their SDHC host products.

Cards address data (read and write) at numerous speeds. Many factors impede this performance. SDHC guarantees a minimum read and write speed necessary to handle recording high quality video and audio. The maximum card speed may vary, but you can always depend on SDHC cards to meet your SDHC host product's high quality performance requirements.

Because SDHC works differently (supports the new higher capacity cards) this new card format is not backwards compatible with legacy SD format host devices.

This is a very handy little card, and a great price too!

Stores thousands of pictures on, which means you can afford to be a fussy picture taker and go nuts! There is so much space, you probably would never fill it!

A few people mentioned that they only see 14.8GB of space. This is because of how MB / KB etc is measured.

There are not 1000mb in 1gb as most people assume but instead 1024mb in 1gb. So this means that 2048mb is 2gb (simple math aye?) but its the way the PC uses to meaure it. So there is 16gb worth of data space on there, but its how the computes work out the space. I could say 100 pence you could say 1 pound.

They put 16GB on the card because thats what space there is in MB.

Does exactly what it says on the pack

I bought this card to see if it works in my Kodak easy share digital photo frame knowing that if it didnt I could use it in my Netbook. No surprises that it works in both devices so I now have an SD card that holds hundreds of photos and I know that I can also use it in my netbook for transferring photos onto the card before plugging it into the photo frame. Ive now ordered another the same so the first can live permanently in the photo frame and I can use the other on the go with the netbook. Ive used Sandisk cards for years and wouldnt use any other brand as they are reliable well built and compatible with many products. As for the price Ive not found one cheaper than play.com

Have used my memory card in a Sony camcorder & recording & playback was perfect. Very pleased as this is the first time that I have used a digital camcorder.

 Just Bought Another

I popped the full size SDHC into my Sanyo Exati CG20. I was warned that the card should be formatted prior to use and that the card might not operate correctly if used in another camera etc before.. It worked straight off for both videos and still photos. Playback from the camera to my TV was seamless. Perfect. It did the job for me. So much so with the price as good as it was I bought another.

 No Problem With HD Recording

I used one of these cards on a Kodak Playsport HD camcorder filming at 720p (60Fps) and at 1080p and had no issues with recordings.

I would however recommend that for a couple of extra pounds a class 4 card may be a better choice for HD recordings.
