Not bad, but not the fastest card out there for photos/video

I compared this to a Sandisk Ultra II card (not the fastest Sandisk cards, but they're more expensive than this one). I ran some file transfer tests using a fast card reader. In brief, the Sandisk card was 71% faster writing large files and 44% faster reading them. The Samsung was 44% faster at random writes (lots of small files) and they were the same at random reads. Full results below:

Continuous write (using a 2GB file)
- Sandisk - 17.1 MB/s
- Samsung - 11.9 MB/s

Continuous read (using a 2GB file)
- Sandisk - 25.7 MB/s
- Samsung - 15.0 MB/s

Random write (using thousands of small files and taking the total time)
- Sandisk - 119 kB/s
- Samsung - 179 kB/s

Random read (using thousands of small files and taking the total time)
- Sandisk - 1130 kB/s
- Samsung - 1130 kB/s

Firstly to clear things up - these do work on Vista (also works on my Win7 and Ubuntu)
Great card, actually bought this from here when it was 5.99 delivered so got a bargain (is now gone up to 9.99 at time of writing this review)
Bought to go in new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP3 (Slim line 4x optical zoom 14.1 MP camera) and this card gives you 804 pictures at the full 14.1MP settings. Perfect for holiday snaps and pretty good read/write speeds as class 6 - will work well if I want to take a quick HD video on this FP3 camera. I say quick as it's only a 4GB card.
Comes with nice rubber case and the SDHC card itself looks nice and is robust. Great value, nuff said!

 Worth the extra money

Great product from Samsung. I use this in my Nikon D3000 DSLR. I take pictures in RAW format and the write times for theses large files are very speedy. So happy that I'm going to order 2/3 more!!

 High Quality

I know for the average when buying an SD(HC) card it usually comes down to one thing - price. Though by paying a little bit extra (costing 7.99 at the time of purchase) compared to the cheaper models you can get additional features that could be beneficial in the long run.

Features include:
- 4GB size
- Speed Class 6
- A 10 year warranty
- Water proof
- Magnet proof
- Shock proof
- Soft Case

So far I am very impressed with the overall design, features and cost of the product (though I am yet to test the water/magnet/shock). A great buy.

HDSC cards do work on Vista

Sorry to "dancingtornado", and although i have yet to buy my one of these, (which i do feel will be of great value) - SDHC does work on Vista. I use many size cards on my Dell Lapatop Sd card slot. You may want to check your device drivers :)
