I am quite impressed that there are quite a few important features on this little unit such as Freeview Receiver, PVR i.e Recorder, Pause Live TV and Rewind and a HD Muliti-media player for almost all available files , H.264, H.264HD, MKV, Dvix, Xvid, MP4 etc etc. The picture quality of standard freeview channels upgraded to 10180i is not inferior to the HD freeview channels and compatibilty with external HDDs is flawless. I have been using two strorage devices, one USB flash drive 15GB and the other External HDD 2.5inch 500GB and both have worked prefectly fine for recording and multi-media playbacks. The user manual and the OSD menu screen are both well illustrated and the time-shift feature Pause Live TV and Rewind is well performed with the storage device formatted thru the unit. Excellent product and Highly recommended !
