This Ipod is a lot better that its predeccessors in every way and you be able to see that just by looking at how much better it looks, and the new features is has on the Apple website. Why is this better than the Touch?
BECAUSE This has an 80gb memory, the touch has a maximum of 16gb. That is 20 hours video or 3500 songs. What is the point in having such a large screen if you could only put 13 movies that are 1 and a half hours long onto it . ( and most new movies are longer than that) Thats with no music on it, who buys an ipod and doesnt put any music, no one! The classic holds 20 thousand songs and 100 hours of video. When listening to music on the ipod classic you will be able to do so for 30 hours until the thing runs out of battery, you will be able to watch video for 7 and a half hours. If you buy the touch your battery will last 20 hours listening to music and 4 and a half watching video. I know i Havnt told you alot about the ipod itself, but thats not what im trying to… more »

I will say this if, you dont want a lot of memory and dont listen to a lot of music and just want the touch for its wow factor,( it is quite impressive, especially the way you can flick through album art with your finger)and how cool you will look using one then buy the touch but if you want alot of music and plenty of space for videos without to kepp deleting stuff from your itunes then get the iPod classic, i did and i have never regretted that decision!

I wanted to upgrade my existing Nano as it was always full and I was a bit fed up of juggling music. I decided to go for the 80GB classic as I knew it would have the storage I needed. It is definately the best thing I have ever bought.
The screen clarity and colour flow is fabulous, although iTunes doesn't always get all the artwork. Nevertheless, it reminds me of the pleasures of flicking through albums.
The music quiz is great fun and addictive, but the naff background music when it isn't playing your music seems difficult to get rid of.
I wasn't sure how easy it would be to transfer my existing music to a new iPod, but it could not have been any simpler.......just plug into the USB and let it sync. However......as I discovered, the new iPod needs to be FULLY charged before the PC and iTunes will recognise it. I was starting to think it was faulty in my haste to play with it as soon as possible!
