What is LED?

Standard LCD TVs use a simple constant fluorescent lamp backlight to illuminate the image on the screen. But this type of lamp is too bright to display true black images and includes unwanted colours which are difficult to filter without reducing
screen brightness. Light Emitting Diode (LED) is a new technology that converts electric energy directly into light, producing a dramatic improvement in contrast and colour rendering. LED has a narrower spectrum of light with fewer unwanted colours.



How does LED help protect our environment?

LED TVs use up to 40% less power than a conventional system which reduces both environmental damage and operating cost. Our LED TVs also require less energy to manufacture. There is no mercury in our LCD TVs and no lead is used in their manufacture. Our ultra-slim design requires less packaging which increases shipping efficiency and reduces waste. Why is the Samsung picture so much better?

Samsung LED replaces ordinary fluorescent backlights with multiple LEDs that brighten, dim or turn off altogether depending on the picture on the screen giving you deep authentic blacks and a greater subtlety of colour gradiation in between. Once you've seen your favourite films and shows the way their makers intended, you'll never settle for ordinary TV again.



How does Samsung make it so slim?

By using smaller lamps and a thinner diffuser sheet, Samsung LED TVs are 70% slimmer than equivalent fluorescent backlit televisions. Samsung takes slimness a step further by arranging the LEDs around the outside of the screen and pointing them inwards. This optimised structure makes the Samsung LED incredibly slim - just 29.9mm! I bought the 55" and might I add this is the best TV on the market today I cannot fault at all, I have read a few reviews about the poor sound quality which is rubbish, I have to keep my sound set at 10 because it's so loud the set like most will go to 100.

These guys are right, the picture is amazing, but you definitely need to buy surround sound along with this. But if your spending a grand on a TV, then this is no problem.

bought this for my birthday! i love it! picture is great (HD) with things like bluray and xbox's! only one flaw! the quality of the sound! :/ not great but not bad! however its an awesome tv! BUY BUY BUY

I purchased one of these televisions to replace my 32"lcd LG, picture quality is superb especially through a hdmi cable,as i have sky hd,and ps3,so bluray is stunning,and games. Set up was very easy,scanning for the freeview channels was very easy too. My biggest draw back with this television is the sound quality, you can choose from different settings or customise it yourself, whether its just me its pretty poor, or it could be that the speakers are at the back so pointing in the wrong direction. Hope you find this useful if considering buying one.
