What is LED?Standard LCD TVs use a simple constant fluorescent lamp backlight to illuminate the image on the screen. But this type of lamp is too bright to display true black images and includes unwanted colours which are difficult to filter without reducing
screen brightness. Light Emitting Diode (LED) is a new technology that converts electric energy directly into light, producing a dramatic improvement in contrast and colour rendering. LED has a narrower spectrum of light with fewer unwanted colours.
How does LED help protect our environment?LED TVs use up to 40% less power than a conventional system which reduces both environmental damage and operating cost.
