Samsung PL65 12.2 Digital Camera (Gun Metal)

Bought this to replace my casio which died and casio did not want to know. Thought I would try samsung. I am really impressed. This little baby is just perfect for someone like me who just wants to take holliday pics and does not want to mess around setting it up. In smart mode it just takes over everything. The 3" screen is magnificent. The picture carity is too Ive dropped the pixels down to 10 adequate. The menus and functions are simple if you want to mess about a bit. The zoom is superb you can take a crystal clear picture of a flower head from 2mtrs .
The casing front is quite plain but the back more than makes up for this. The gun metal finish is really cool with a deep purple haze. Takes a standard sd card and sdhc with the sd adaptor I have a 4 gig in it.
I have only found one fault. When the battrey is almost flat if you touch the bin button by accident it powers up and asks you whether or not you want to format the memory obviousely this would delete everthing. So if it was in a case and jiggled arround this is possible to happen. watch that.

I brought this camera just before I went on holiday to the Malddives, 2nd time and I regretted not taking a camera the first time.
The picture quality is great and the easy of use it brilliant (all my family have no issues picking it up and taking a few photos or videos).
I paid 109.99 for it at the time and the photos it has taken have easily out done my brother in laws which cost him over 150.

My only warning is the "Gun Metal" colour is a dark purple and if you in a hot country don't keep it in an air conditioned room (just in the shade) as the condensation take a while to clear from the lens.

I have just updated from a Kodak 5MP to this camera and think the PL65 is great. I love the face recognition and the other features very cool. The price is good very nice all rounder for its price and class.
The only downside I would mention is very minor and that is the location of the battery and memory card slot are right next to each other and the divider between them is not a ridged as it should be. This can cause some problem when inserting your SD card. But the simple way around this issue is to remove the battery before you insert the battery and there should be no problems.
